Dive deep into the history of great art and architecture in Florence with this all-access tour to the city’s most jaw-dropping attractions. From the heights of Florence Cathedral’s enormous dome; to the hallowed halls of the Accademia; and inside lesser-visited gems like the Duomo Museum and the Baptistery; this exclusive tour is an art-lover’s dream.

This exclusive tour of David and the Duomo lets you skip the lines at two of Florence’s biggest attractions and revel in some of the greatest art and architecture produced during the Italian Renaissance. Visit Michelangelo’s David before the crowds show up; climb the Florence Dome without waiting in line; explore areas of the Duomo usually closed to the public; and dig deeper at the Duomo Museum & Baptistery.

You’ll start first thing in the morning, meeting your local expert guide and intimate group of 15 people or fewer outside the Accademia. Before the daytime crowds show up, you’ll head in to marvel at Michelangelo’s David as well as his unfinished sculptures known as ‘Slaves’ which give incredible insight into the mind of the great artist.

Next it’s onto the Duomo Baptistery which is famous for its replicas of the bronze doors called the “Gates of Paradise” (don’t worry, you’ll see the real ones later, in the Duomo Museum). Inside the Baptistery packed with beautiful art and fascinating stories about the Medici family who were all baptized here.

From there your guide take you over to the Duomo Museum to show you what the the original facade of the Cathedral actually looked like. While there you’ll also see masterpieces by Michelangelo and Donatello.

From the museum, you’ll skip lines into the Duomo where you’ll have special access to a room filled with original statues from the cathedral’s facade. Your guide will bring the unbelievable history of the Duomo’s construction to life as you explore the building. Your special access extends to the Cathedral itself, where you’ll step over the velvet ropes to see details up close.

We’ve saved the best for last. After seeing all there is to see inside the Cathedral, you’ll visit the Duomo Terraces where you’ll use a special entrance to skip the (always long) line and climb all the way up to the top of the Duomo for the city’s most amazing views.

Discover Florence when the day is winding down during a 2-hour evening walking tour. Stroll through the historical center of the beloved Renaissance city and see the majestic Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, Brunelleschi’s Ospedale degli Innocenti, Duomo (Cathedral of Santa Maria dei Fiori) and more top attractions. As you wander, learn about the past and present of the Tuscan capital from your expert guide.

Meet your guide in central Florence in the late afternoon and set off on an informative walk through the historical center as evening falls. Inspired by the Italian ritual of ‘la passeggiata’ (an evening stroll), this walk will provide the perfect introduction to the real Florence as you follow in the footsteps of locals.

Begin in Piazza della Santissima Annunziata, a major city square that’s home to the Ospedale degli Innocenti, a one-time orphanage designed by the great Renaissance architect Brunelleschi early in his career. Next, amble along Via dei Servi, a street lined with cafes and shops, before arriving at Brunelleschi’s jewel and the city’s most famous monument, the Duomo. Circle around the exterior of the famous cathedral and discuss its importance and significance with your guide. You’ll also learn about the nearby Baptistery and the evolution of Florentine art and history.

Where you go next can change, depending on the preferences of the group and your particular guide. Perhaps check out Piazza della Signoria and the mighty Palazzo Vecchio, which once housed the rulers of the Florentine Republic. Or continue on to Piazza della Repubblica, the location of the Roman city’s forum and now a popular meeting place with multiple cafes, markets and street performers. Your guide may also point out some lesser-known historical sites along the way.
Depending on the group's preferences, you may stop for a glass of wine or a scoop of gelato and watch the city transform as night falls. As you drink or eat, chat with your guide about other aspects of Florentine life, such as fashion, food and everyday life in the city.

Having gained a greater understanding of Florence and the Florentine way of life, part ways with your guide in central Florence.

This is a 4 hours tour designed for those who love the history of Florence and the Medici dinasty. It includes two of the most popular museums of Florence: Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti where the Medici family lived for long time and the astonishing Boboli gardens.

Meet your official guide at the lobby of your centrally located hotel and start the tour from there.

The first museum that you'll visit is Palazzo Vecchio: it has been the center of Florence's civic power for more than seven centuries and houses the town hall. The striking building was built in the early 1300s, it dominates Piazza della Signoria and was decorated by the ruling Medici family in the 16th century when they lived there. You’ll see decorated ceilings, frescoes by Vasari and statues by Donatello and Michelangelo. See the mysterious symbols and artworks that inspired Dan Brown’s novel ‘Inferno’ (and the film of the same name), such as an inscription ‘Cerca e Trova’ (‘Seek and you shall find’) written atop a fresco by Giorgio Vasari. Learn about the building’s transformation from a medieval town hall into the private residence of Duke Cosimo I before the famous ruling family relocated to the city’s Palazzo Pitti.

After Palazzo Vecchio, walk with your guide in direction of Palazzo Pitti, admire Ponte Vecchio and hear the history of the long Vasari Corridor, the walkway designed to offer secrecy and protection to the Florentine rulers.

Next, reach the Oltrarno district, the place where many locals live and where you finally see the imposing Palazzo Pitti, last residence of the Medici family and one of the most insightful visits you can enjoy in Florence.

This amazing museum has something for everyone: it was the Medici family Residence combined with gardens and a spectacularly beautiful art gallery, lavish rooms and views. Pitti Palace now houses several museums and a fine collection of paintings.

During the tour you'll visit Boboli gardens, the prototype of the Italian Formal Garden, no wonder it was recently added to the list of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Boboli is decorated with fountains, statues creating a real open-air museum with stunning view of Florence.
Then you have the opportunity to see the Palatine Gallery wich isn't an Academic museum, the layout preserves the character of a private picture gallery, the paintings are arranged to fit the space and the room’s decorations, revealing the tastes of the great collectors who lived in the palace. The paintings, which are sumptuously framed, cover the walls of the rooms in the style of traditional baroque galleries, following neither chronological order nor schools of painting. This peculiar arrangement brings the time of the Medici’s to life, like an incredible trompe-l’oeil fresco, transporting us in another time.

The tour ends inside Palazzo Pitti, where you can stay until closing time visiting the other museums on your own.
