Combine Chianti wine with blissful Tuscan countryside on a half-day wine tour from Florence! With a tour escort, travel out of Florence and spend the afternoon at an enchanting castle winery in the Chianti Fiorentino region and in an ancient winery in the Chianti Senese, with local wine-expert guides. In both wineries tour the wine cellars, hear the secrets of Tuscan winemaking, and then sample prestigious Tuscan wine alongside some traditional Italian snacks.

Leave central Florence by air-conditioned coach, and travel into the lush Tuscan countryside that surrounds the city. An area of unrivaled beauty, Tuscany also holds a reputation as one of Italy’s most esteemed winemaking regions and acres of picturesque vineyards blanket its sun-drenched hills.

Revel in the scenery as you travel, passing traditional travertine villages clinging to hilltops, overlooking swathes of vine-clad fields and olive groves. Your route continues into the Chianti Fiorentino where some of Italy’s most prized red wine is produced. Stop for the visit to a renowned wine estate at a castle for your tour and tasting session.

After a friendly Tuscan welcome at the venue, start your visit with a tour of the castle’s historical wine cellars. See where the grapes are crushed, and where the wine is matured and later bottled while hearing some secrets of Tuscan winemaking.

Then, take a seat at a wine glass–laden table, and sip on different glasses of wine made by the estate. The varietals are subject to change, but typically a glass of Chianti Classico, Chianti Reserve, the eponymous Tuscan vinsanto (dessert wine) or a prestigious white wine are served. Savor the complex and fruity flavors that are prevalent in Tuscan wine, and hear tasting tips to help you understand the characteristics of different grapes that are used.

The Tour continues then to the picturesque medieval village of Greve, birthplace of the famous navigator Giovanni da Verrazzano, where every year takes place the most important wine fair of the Chianti region. Here you will have free time to admire the famous main square of the ancient "market" with its characteristic arcades and to browse through the local artisan shops.
Moving along the ancient "Via Chiantigiana", we cross the heart of the Chianti Classico, admiring the breathtaking views of the rolling hills that made so famous this part of Tuscany.
We reach then a family-run Winery located in the Sienese area of the Chianti Classico, which stands out for the excellent quality of its wines. Here we will be warmly welcomed by its passionate winemaker and after the guided tour of the cellars and the lovely aromatic garden, a delicious tasting of four different wines and local products will be waiting for us.
The last stop of the tour is Castellina*, a fortified hilltop village of Etruscan origin, among the most lively and picturesque of Chianti, characterized by an imposing fortress: here, walking through the picturesque medieval covered street "Via delle Volte", the tour leader will guide us to discover the charming historical center and its picturesque houses, squares and shops.

Please note the order of the visit may change

*From November to March, the itinerary does not include the stop at Castellina, so the return to Florence is about 30 minutes earlier

Join the only tour that takes you to the Cinque Terre on a one-day hiking trip from Florence. Hiking is the only way to truly experience the magic of the Cinque Terre. Take a break from the bustle of the city and hike this UNESCO World Heritage-listed site. It's a unique and memorable experience, exploring the only unspoilt survivor of the genuine Italian Riviera.

Led by your knowledgeable guide you will trek scenic trails and wander through vineyards and olive groves, over stone walls and along a spectacular coastline. This tour includes coach transportation, rail and boat travel between villages, entry in to Cinque Terre National Park and a delicious lunch.

The Cinque Terre takes its name from the five picturesque fishing villages of Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso. Each town has a distinct character, but all share alleys, arches and steep stone steps, best explored on foot. An idyllic snapshot of old-world Italy, the villages are surrounded by sunny beaches, narrow lanes lined with shops and stalls, brightly colored fishing boats, seaside promenades and sleepy piazzas.

The ancient trails are rough but manageable. Be prepared for the hiking – although the path is open to everyone, remember that the ground can be slippery, uneven, and in places steep and narrow. The charm of the area is that it is natural and unspoilt, so do not expect hand rails or safety rails when steps are steep or when the path is close to the edge.

With limited time in Florence, avoid the crowds and take a 3-hour walking tour through the Uffizi Gallery with priority entrance. See masterpieces from Michelangelo, Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and more, as your guide provides in-depth commentary on each work that you pass. This group tour is limited to 25 people for a no-hassle way to see one of the world's most famous art museums.

Avoid long lines at the Uffizi Gallery as your guide delivers commentary on your 3-hour tour through the gallery's main rooms. You'll also enjoy an external tour of the Vasari Corridor. Hidden between city houses and even passing through a church, the Vasari Corridor has evolved as one of the most astounding architectural masterpieces of the Renaissance.

See artists like Giotto, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raffaello, Botticelli, and more as you follow your guide through the Uffizi Gallery's main rooms. Your guide will reveal the stories and hidden secrets behind the masterpieces along the way.

After your walking tour inside of the Uffizi Gallery, head to the Vasari Corridor for an external tour (approx. 20 minutes) of the once-secret passageway, used by Cosimo and his wife, Eleonora, to travel from one side of Florence to the other. Built above the Ponte Vecchio, the corridor dates back to 1564 and stretches almost a mile between Palazzo Pitti, over the Arno to Palazzo della Signoria. It was Cosimo I who first summoned the architect Giorgio Vasari to build such a path for the royal family.

Your tour will conclude after three hours outside of the Boboli Gardens.

See the original statue of ‘David,’ Michelangelo’s iconic Florentine masterpiece, inside the Accademia Gallery on a 1-hour and 15 minutes tour! Skip the line with a priority-entrance ticket, and head inside to learn about some of the finest pieces of Renaissance art in the world. See Michelangelo’s unfinished ‘Prigioni’ and ‘San Matteo’ sculptures, gaze in wonder at ‘David’ and discover intriguing works by artists like Botticelli, Lippi and more.

Meet your guide outside the Accademia Gallery in central Florence, and then head inside with your fast-track entrance ticket. The museum is home to some of the finest works of Renaissance artwork in the world, so lines to enter are often long. Your reserved skip-the-line ticket allows you to bypass the entrance lines, meaning you spend more time viewing the art than standing in line.

As you walk around inside, listen to stories and history about the wealth of artwork contained within the Accademia Gallery’s walls. Works by Renaissance superstar Michelangelo are given pride of place inside the museum, and your guide’s commentary focuses on the much-loved Florentine artist. Admire his famously unfinished sculptures – Prigioni and San Matteo – and then gaze in awe at the statue of David that dominates the central gallery.

Ever the crowd pleaser, David was created by Michelangelo when he was just in his twenties, fresh from the glory of carving La Pietà. Sculpted entirely from local Carrara marble, the statue of the nude biblical hero is incredible to behold with life-like veins and muscles carved to precision as had never been done before. Standing at a lofty height of 17 feet (5.17 meters), the statue of David became a symbol of freedom and independence for the city.

After admiring David, visit other rooms with your guide to learn about other Renaissance artists such as Botticelli and Lippi. When your tour finishes, you can stay inside the museum for as long as you wish, discovering collections of artwork from the Middle Ages as well as the Renaissance. The Accademia Gallery is also home to the Museum of Musical Instruments, which is worth visiting independently.
